Our wonderful supporter Belinda!

I pray my legacy gives people a chance to experience life in all its fullness.

Retired NHS hero Belinda Walker is always extremely busy with many inspiring volunteering roles, including teaching English to refugees, serving as a town and district councillor and recently being elected as her local town mayor! She says that one of the motivators for her career choice as a Speech and Language Therapist, her voluntary roles and getting involved in politics was to act as an advocate for the voiceless and the marginalised. Just as BMS World Mission does.

Belinda knows that God has blessed her immensely. She has generously left a gift to BMS in her Will in order for the gospel to be shared abundantly. She is also passionate about education projects, especially for girls, and the wider fields of gender justice and rights for marginalised members of society. Belinda prays that her legacy will give people a chance to experience life in all its fullness, and we echo that prayer with a loud “Amen!”.

Our dedicated supporter David

David is truly sharing abundant life, for future generations.

In his daughter’s words, David left a gift to BMS in his Will as a ‘natural conclusion to a lifetime of giving’.

David faithfully served in ministry at Beulah Baptist Church in Hollinwood, for an awe-inspiring 52 years. Beulah always supported BMS and regularly had mission workers visiting. Those mission workers often stayed with David and his wife Elaine for the weekend.

However, his connection with BMS began when he developed a relationship with the Chesterman family, when both families were members of Broadway Baptist Church, Chesham. Mr and Mrs Chesterman had been mission workers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and David and their son Michael became lifelong friends.

David and Elaine were so generous in their partnership with BMS and often marked special occasions by asking family and friends to give donations rather than sending presents – their Diamond Wedding was a recent example.

David will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him, however, his family take comfort in the knowledge that his legacy of love, service and Christ-centeredness lives on in his kind-hearted gift. David is truly sharing abundant life, for future generations.
