Mozambique: best holiday destination of 2018???

When you think of Mozambique, I’m not sure if you think of it as possibly the best holiday destination ever……….. or the worst, a place where you would love to visit or where you wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole! I’m not sure what was going through the minds of the team when they were waiting at the airport to fly out here about three weeks ago, but they definitely didn’t come here for a holiday!!

We had the privilege of hosting a team of seven people from the Bristol Baptist College for two weeks. For them, Mozambique wasn’t a destination for a relaxing holiday, but the opposite, a very short time to get to know what life is like in Mozambique for the locals, the missionaries, and it was a time for them to serve God through a number of different activities. The day after they arrived, they were already out and about.

Here are some photos to show you what they got up to…

They visited two orphanages….

Did some training with the PEPE teachers and visited PEPEs

Took part in a classes and services at the Bible institues

Gave Christian talks and testimonies at a local school….

Preached at various different Churches and denominations…

Spoke at the Christian Lawyers fellowship (AMAC)  Led a talk with some women from our Church

And of course as rainy season is over, we got to take them for a car ride seeing monkeys and a boat ride to the nicest beach around.

This team was a blessing to us and many others during the two weeks that they were here. We thank God for their lives, their families, their ministries, and their time of service in Mozambique.

Mozambique might not be the holiday destination of the year, but it is a place where God is working through His people, where beauty can be seen in many different ways, a place where your soul can get refreshment, where you can be challenged to step out of your comfort zone, where you have no choice but to evaluate your own life and circumstances.

“Our Father in heaven, reveal who you are. Set the world right; Do what’s best as above, so below. Keep us alive with three square meals. Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others. Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil. You’re in charge! You can do anything you want! You’re ablaze in beauty! Yes. Yes. Yes. Amen.” (Matthew 6:9-13)
