Everybody loves “las chicas”

Over the last six months our church Bethel Baptist Church has been hosting a BMS Action Team, Becky, Bethan, Katie and Mari, collectively known as “las chicas” (the girls). They taught English at the school, helped out in numerous other activities, supported the church plant at Pilares and otherwise immersed themselves in the lives of the church.

The experience has been a resounding success. They made many friends within the church and as supervisors we received only compliments about them. In fact our supervisory role was one of mainly advising, monitoring and organizing things. We were pleased to see that the Spanish lessons we arranged were fruitful, the picture above is of the team giving a lengthy farewell speech to the church, in Spanish.
