Chad
Andrea and Mark Hotchkin hope to go to Chad in April. This is a new country for BMS World Mission to be working in. Andrea and Mark are medical doctors who worked previously for ten years with BMS in Guinea. They have just completed six years work in the NHS during which Mark pursued further specialist training in emergency medicine and Andrea in obstetrics and gynaecology. They will be living in N’Djamena, the capital of Chad. The aim is to bring good news to the poor by working to set up a new hospital and sharing the experience of life in Jesus. They have two children who will be attending high school in the city. Andrea and Mark are from Wakefield and are interested in groups in Macclesfield, North Wales, Cornwall, Plymouth and along the M62 corridor.
Guinea
Simon and Solange Wood are currently working in Guinea where they are involved in church planting and leadership training. Simon grew up in Chester and Solange comes from Tubarao, southern Brazil. Before going to IMC, Simon was a social worker. Solange worked with YWAM teams in Brazil for two years before spending a further two years in a mission orphanage in Macao, China. Simon and Solange have a son called Rafael and a daughter called Beatrice. They are interested in having Link Up groups in north west England, north Wales and along the M6 corridor.
Nepal
Becky and Dan Parnell are from Liverpool and both worked as secondary school teachers on Merseyside. Becky taught geography in north Liverpool, while Dan taught ICT in St Helens. They have a son called Samuel. They are currently teaching at the Kathmandu International Study Centre (KISC) in Nepal. They are interested in having Link Up groups in Oxfordshire, Midlands and central England areas.
Mid-term mission workers
Bangladesh
Andrene and James Hayton served with BMS as mid-term workers in a refugee hospital on the Thai-Burmese border between 2006 and 2007. In August, they will return as mid-term workers and plan to move to Dhaka in Bangladesh for a few months of language study. After that they will move to LAMB hospital, a 150-bed mission hospital in north west Bangladesh. They hope to serve the local population alongside Bangladeshi staff through their medical specialities. James is an emergency medicine doctor and Andrene is an obstetrics and gynaecology doctor. While James is originally from Yorkshire and Andrene is from Northern Ireland, they both trained in Edinburgh and have worked throughout the UK in their respective fields. Andrene and James are interested in groups in north England and south Scotland.
Elly and Rich Lomath are currently working in Nepal with INF in Pokhara. Rich’s role is yet to be finalised but he is working with INF alongside Nepali nationals in Pokhara. Elly is using her experience as a teacher to teach a group of missionary children in a small school. Prior to going to Nepal, Elly was teaching in a school on the outskirts of Southampton and Rich was working for HM Revenue and Customs as a manager of a small team. They are members of Shirley Baptist Church, Southampton. Elly and Rich are interested in having Link Up groups in the south of England.
