The Birthday Scheme primarily supports the health work of BMS and partner organisations across the world.
BMS health work covers more than the medical intervention carried out by doctors, dentists, nurses and other health professionals. It also includes work directed at disease prevention and the promotion of positive health.
As such it encompasses the services of construction workers, engineers, community workers, and many others who are involved in projects that will have a direct impact on raising health standards in entire communities.
In many of the world’s tough and hard environments, both physically and spiritually, this work can be one of the most effective ways for us to share the gospel story.
Actions often speak louder than words and a practical witness that meets people’s needs is a wonderful manifestation of God’s love and concern.
