Everyone’s talking about new ways of doing church these days. Steven Croft has been doing it longer than most, mainly through the Anglican-Methodist Fresh Expressions initiative.
This book is a collection of essays arising from a series of day conferences.
Because of its origin, the result is a mixed bag – some essays are excellent (Dunn and Alexander on the New Testament, Drane and Wilkinson stand out). But none is a dud. All bear the marks of being honed in the fire of debate – and that’s good.
As with everything Fresh Expressions does, it’s a tad Anglican, so we Baptists have to work to make the applications to our own mission. But there’s lots worth thinking about and applying here.
