Transforming lives on four continents

Mission Development Co-ordinator

Rev Judy White is appointed to an important new church liaison position in Scotland.

The Baptist Union of Scotland and BMS World Mission are delighted to announce the appointment of Rev Judy White to the new post of Mission Development Co-ordinator.

This post is jointly funded by both organisations and Judy’s role will be one of helping churches develop their mission engagement both locally and internationally.

Judy is currently pastor for community involvement at Stirling Baptist Church and will be taking up her new role on 1 February 2012.

Our underlying conviction is that, in today’s world, all mission is cross cultural mission. As such, the development and promotion of innovative mission, both in Scotland and around the world, is essentially the same task.

It will find expression in different places, sometimes needing different skills but it’s no longer viable to hold apart what essentially needs to be held together.

As the world is made virtually smaller through new communication and transport links we believe that a holistic view of mission must include giving and receiving.

There is still much for us to give as a nation to the task of global mission but in humility we look today to receive from churches in other nations, that we too might be better equipped to reach this nation for Christ.

Please pray for Judy as she prepares to take on this exciting and challenging new role.
