Transforming lives on four continents

A call to action – IMC begins

New mission trainees of all ages arrived at BMS World Mission’s International Mission Centre (IMC) on Monday to begin training for their time overseas.

IMC Training Session“If God wants it to happen, it will happen,” were the words of encouragement Hannah James’ friend said as Hannah contemplated spending a gap year of overseas mission work with a BMS Action Team.

This week, IMC began training young adults and long and short term mission trainees for their fast-approaching departure date. “We’ve formed a very good community already,” said Sarah McArthur, a mid-term mission trainee. “We cook together and share meals; everyone is getting on really well.”

Life is busy for the 22 Action Team members as well as the nine BMS long and med-term mission trainees currently living at IMC. “Action Team training is a very exciting time of the year,” says Ben Drabble, Short-term Programmes Organiser, “This will be a fun, faith-stretching month for us all, characterised by discipleship and community.”

According to Sam Poursain, IMC Team Administrator, the groups have begun sessions that include cross-cultural training and conflict resolution, and others to fully prepare the trainees for their service.
