Locations 2012-13

BMS works in over 35 countries across the world. Below is where we’re sending teams for the 2012/2013 programme. We'll be releasing information about our 2013/14 locations during the summer. You can find out more about each location, and the kinds of things you’ll be doing at our Contact Weekends.

 The Delhi Action Team will be helping in a local school, engaging in women's empowerment projects and playing sports. The team will also get involved in a local church working with youth, helping to lead worship, visiting and praying with people in their own homes. 

The India Kolkata Action Team will be involved in a number of social action projects, including mobile schools for street children. There may also be opportunity to work with the elderly and projects initiated by Mother Teresa. 

Working with BMS long-term personnel, we expect the Italy Action Team to be involved in youth work, evangelism and a variety of other activities based in and alongside the local Baptist church.  It’s likely that there will also be the opportunity for the team to teach English.

The Lebanon Action Team will be based in Beirut and will be supporting an orphanage and a local church. Possible opportunities include youth and children’s work, leading worship and small groups, tutoring, sports ministry and mentoring.

The Nepal Action Team will be based in Kathmandu, supporting the ongoing work in Nepali schools. The team will engage with the schools work and reach out to the surrounding communities through various projects.

The Peru Action Team will be based in Iquitos in the Amazon region of Peru. They will be supporting church-based community development work, including environmental initiatives.

The Uganda Action Team will serve with the Baptist Union of Uganda and BMS workers in a range of different activities. Leading youth conferences, schools work, visiting homes, praying and sharing their faith will all be part of the programme.
