Eric and Sarah met in Guinea in May 2007 where they are currently serving as mission workers. Eric comes from D R Congo and is a member of the Baptist Church of the River Congo. Sarah comes from Birmingham and is a member of Bearwood Baptist Church in Sandwell, West Midlands.
Eric is a medical doctor and specialist in internal medicine. He was the medical director of a large mission hospital in Congo, worked on several medical research projects and was an expert for the World Health Organisation.
Eric was active in encouraging evangelisation in the healthcare service and organised Bible studies and fellowship among young Christians at his church. He has continued these two aspects of his ministry in Guinea, where he started mission work with BMS in 2005.
Eric's life has been peppered with contact with BMS missionaries in Congo. His father is married to a former BMS missionary.
Originally from a background in public relations, Sarah has over recent years moved into her long-desired area of interest: international development. Her experience overseas began through working as a capacity builder for a HIV/Aids non-governmental organisation in Zambia with Voluntary Services Overseas. Consultancy work in communications with the Government of the Republic of Zambia, the United Nations Development Programme and the United Nations Children's Fund quickly followed.
She moved to Guinea in 2007 with BMS, undertaking development-related activities.
