Lynne comes from Gourock and her home church is George Square Baptist Church, Greenock.
Trained as a secondary school geography and English teacher, Lynne taught for two years in Scotland before going to Madeira to teach English as a foreign language for two years. Returning to the UK, she worked in Bury for three years as a language support teacher working with ethnic minority children and asylum seekers. This was followed by time in Brazil and Mozambique working as a BMS volunteer with the pre-school programme known as PEPE that BMS supports.
Accepted by BMS for long-term service, Lynne studied at the BMS International Mission Centre, Birmingham, for a year before going to Portugal for language study.
Lynne has been in Angola since June 2004, helping set up PEPEs. As national PEPE coordinator, Lynne works both in Luanda and in the provinces. She regularly trains Angolan teachers to run their own PEPEs.
Lynne enjoys reading, walking and meeting with friends.
