Arthur & Louise Brown

Brown, Arthur and Louise (Lebanon)

Arthur and Louise come from east London and were part of the Urban Expression church planting initiative. Their home church is Cable Street Community Church, Shadwell. Both are qualified youth and community workers and Arthur managed the Oasis youth work and ministry degree course prior to starting work with BMS. Louise was a full-time mother. Both have specialised working with those on the margins of society, Louise with homeless refugees and sex workers. Arthur has worked with young people at risk of social and educational exclusion.

After studying at BMS' International Mission Centre in Birmingham, they went as BMS long-term workers to Beirut, Lebanon in 2005. Here they are involved in urban community development and youth ministry. Arthur also trains youth ministers and supports youth ministry at the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary and Louise works with Palestinian refugees.

Arthur's interests include white water kayaking, his 1973 VW Camper Van, Arsenal, reading, applied theology, playing guitar and listening to music. Louise enjoys reading fantasy novels, playing board games and supports Manchester United. They both enjoy playing badminton, cooking, socialising with friends and curries.

Arthur and Louise have three small children, Jessica, Naomi and Jack.
