Info
Since freedom came to Ukraine, with the dissolution of the USSR in 1991, the Ukrainian Baptist Union has grown dramatically through its commitment to evangelism and church planting. Indeed, some 150 new churches and about 50 new housegroups have been started each year. Accordingly, the Baptist Union has become the largest in Europe, with approximately 3,000 churches and more than 150,000 members. In addition to its vigorous home mission programme, the Ukrainian Baptist Union has begun to embark on foreign mission work and this is where the partnership with BMS is focused. For several years, BMS has been supporting Ukrainian mission personnel working among ex-Soviet immigrants in Portugal and Latvia.
