BMS World Mission has been involved in both the theological seminary and the International Baptist Lay Academy (IBLA) in Hungary through the work of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) by BMS volunteers. Jenny Smith, who was a volunteer in the country for a number of years, was accepted by BMS as a full-time worker in 2000 and, after a year of studies at IMC, Birmingham, returned to work at the theological seminary in 2002. BMS also supports church planting, youth work and work among the Roma.
