Info
BMS World Mission entered into a partnership with the Bulgarian Baptist Union in March 1993. Since that time, aid has been given through BMS relief grants. The Bulgarian Baptist Union developed quickly in the first years of freedom after the fall of the Berlin Wall and now has 75 churches with a total of over 5,000 members. In 2002, Mark and Penny O'Sullivan began work in the country. After three years in Kazanlak (central Bulgaria), Mark and Penny moved to the capital, Sofia, at the end of 2006 to begin church planting work. BMS also financially supports Bulgarian-led church planting, theological education and work among the Roma.
