Deep in the heart of the jungle a battle wages - a battle for survival. Survivor, a project for children's leaders to use with their groups, takes children through the wilds of northern Thailand to help refugees fight for their lives - lives that have been threatened by civil war in Burma, the rough journey of escape to refugee camps on the Thailand/Burma border and life in a refugee camp. How would your children cope?
Following the story of a survivor, Klaw Meh, an 11-year-old refugee on the Thai/Burma border, Survivor looks at what it is like to be a refugee struggling to stay alive. The resource is divided into four main sections each exploring one of four vital survival tips - finding a safe place; building a shelter; looking after your supplies; and caring for your soul. Each survival tip has group activities, games, Bible studies, arts and crafts, fundraising and prayer activities, and a photocopiable activity page related to the survival tip. It's interactive, engaging and challenging.
