Sandersons move to Gulu (14/05/2009)

14/05/2009

Caroline, Steve and their daughter Hannah are moving to Gulu in northern Uganda, after four years in Kampala.

Caroline and Steve are lawyers and are working on access to justice projects with the Ugandan Christian Lawyers Fraternity. Please pray for them during this time of transition:

Sandersons

"Next week, after so long in the planning, we will be moving to Gulu!  So we will begin our second ‘missionary journey’ with excitement and some trepidation.  Whilst we have now visited Gulu a number of times, we don’t know many people there and have not yet visited Gulu Baptist Church on a Sunday, which we hope to attend.  However, we have been blessed with a wonderful home.

The targets we have agreed are to begin learning Luo (the main language of northern Uganda), to do research and assessment on needs and culture in order to pave the way for projects on our return from the UK, to build relationships at church, to fulfil remaining legal education responsibilities and to set up our new home!

Give thanks for:
  • the last four years in Kampala
  • the great experiences at Nakawa Baptist Church in Kampala, and their own missionary vision

Pray for:
  • the packing and moving next week
  • being able to quickly settle into a new home
  • good health, particularly against malaria
