Is God calling you for a new adventure this summer?
This summer BMS is sending a Summer Team to Delhi to work with our partner organisation Anusaran - who work to give women and children opportunities to live life to the full without any discrimination.
If you join the team you will be helping to teach basic English, maths and crafts in a school alongside Anusuran staff. You will also get involved with women's empowerment projects and a local church. Anyone who is a committed Christian and between 18-74 years old are welcome to apply. The deadline is 12 March with a selection day on 20 March 2010 - so if you feel God is calling you, we would love to hear from you today.
Here are just some of the things that Anusaran has been doing over the last few months:
Making an exhibition
Women in Anusaran were overjoyed as Anusuran organised an exhibition for their work. It was the first time they had had an opportunity to hold stalls at a fate.
They had made beautiful jewellery, wall hangings and greeting cards to sell. It was the first time the women had showed what they could produce in front of so many people and was very encouraging for all involved.
At Anusaran the women, children and staff all celebrated Christmas with lots of merriment - there was a message of Jesus' birth, a puppet-show, songs by the children, dances, skits, gifts exchange and a picnic.
Thanks to generous support, Anusaran was able to provide to each child with gifts - a sweater, scarf, shirt, dress or shoes.
The Christmas story encouraged all with a message of love, obedience, hope and sacrifice.
