BMS World Mission

Volunteers needed in Bulgaria

BMS is looking for volunteers to work with orphans in Bulgaria.   BMS is partnering with The Cedar Foundation as it works to set up care services in line with European standards.   Many residents of current institutions in Bulgaria are profoundly mentally and physically disabled and institutionalised.  The new alternative care services aim to give the residents the possibility of integration into society as well as providing a family environment where they can be educated and cared for.

Although not essential, applicants should have experience in one of the following or related fields: occupational therapy, social work, applied behavioural analysis, speech therapy, or project management.  An up to date enhanced CRB disclosure will be required.

Volunteers will train care staff and assist in the day-to-day operations of homes or institution.

These openings require significant patience, interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt to new situations.
