BMS World Mission has produced a number of ready-to-use resources aimed at informing, educating and inspiring your church congregation or small group about human trafficking.
There are two versions of a sermon specially written by Mat Wilson, a former BMS minister in Albania, who is now a mission trainer at our International Mission Centre in Birmingham.
There is a full script version, including all verses mentioned written out in full, and also an outline, where the main points of the script are bulleted. This is ideal for speakers who prefer prompts to a full script. Both of these are available here as PDFs.
Mat has also produced two prayers - one from the viewpoint of a trafficking victim, the other a more conventional congregational prayer. There is also a powerful poem, written by BMS' Multimedia Developer Mike Hargreaves. Again, these are here as PDFs.
A PowerPoint is available to download and use in your church, and can be used instead of, or to complement, the sermon. It's another way to get the message across, and includes some thought-provoking information and strong visual images.
Take further action by using the list of In transit action points, which include ideas of what you can do about trafficking in your own community.
Finally, there is a full colour A4 poster to promote the campaign at your church, plus a petition form, which works the same way as the postcards and is using at ideal for community events.
There is also background information, news of developments or slavery-related events and a list of ideas of how you can get involved in fighting slavery. Follow the links at the top of the page to find out more.
