Peter & Vicki Butchers

Butchers, Pete & Vicki (Ecuador)

Peter and Vicki both come from Tonbridge in Kent where they met and were married in 1994.

Before serving with BMS World Mission, Peter was the minister of Sheep Street Baptist Church, Devizes, in Wiltshire for seven years. They have four children Thomas, Charis, Alex and Zoƫ. They are members of Tonbridge Baptist Church.

They are now serving in Guayaquil, Ecuador, in church work among the urban poor. Specifically, they are working together to plant a church in the slum community of Vergeles.

Vicki is investing a lot of time running a PEPE pre-school to benefit and reach into the community, whilst Pete follows up in evangelistic visiting to the families and building up the growing group of believers.

Beyond the local work in Vergeles, Pete heads up a new city-wide mission initiative, Project Nehemiah, that aims to establish a network of new mission works in the slums around Guayaquil.

The children are all studying at a local school.

Vicki enjoys crafts, playing the piano and entertaining. Peter enjoys most sports especially football and things IT. As a family they enjoy camping and walking together.
