Info
BMS World Mission has been involved in India since 1793 - the days of William Carey. Today BMS retains links with a number of traditional partners in North India - the Baptist Church of Mizoram, the Baptist Union of North India and the Bengal Baptist Union. We also work with a number of new, focused ministries such as Satyamarg and Anusaran in Delhi, and Good News Children's Education Movement in Kolkata.

Since 1947, the number of BMS personnel in India has decreased drastically. Currently there are three long-term BMS personnel in the country; however, there has been exciting growth in the numbers of people going on BMS' Summer, Church and Action Teams. Many short-term placements are based in the BMS mission centre in Kolkata, enabling participation in a wide variety of social action projects in that vibrant city.
