For over 120 years, BMS World Mission has worked with the Baptist Church of the River Congo (CBFC), sending personnel, funding and equipment. BMS also makes annual grants to medical work, theological training and the CBFC central budget, and relief grants from time to time. Before an evacuation of workers during the early 1990s there were around 70 BMS personnel in Congo - today there are just a handful.
