BMS World Mission

Tim Edworthy

Tim Edworthy
Tim Edworthy is pastor of Park Road Baptist Church, Peterborough. He had 14 years experience in the financial services industry before training for the Baptist ministry at Regent’s Park College, Oxford. He then became minister of Wellington Square Baptist Church, Hastings, until 2004 when he moved to Peterborough.

Tim has a long-held interest in BMS and mission work. His father was a Baptist minister and the BMS Prayer Guide was always used during family prayers. Tim and Wendy, his wife, visited Nepal in 1993 when Tim’s parents were serving at the International Protestant Congregation, Kathmandu. In 2003, Tim visited Nepal again, with the help of BMS, as part of his sabbatical leave.

In 2007, he and his family travelled to Chile, where they have family involved in church planting. Says Tim, “It’s humbling and inspiring to see the same God at work around the world, in very different ways!”

Tim has been a member of BMS General Committee and Council of Reference since 2000 and a member of the Selection Board since 2003. As a trustee of BMS, Tim is keen to represent the views of the local church to BMS, and represent BMS in the local church.

In his spare time, Tim enjoys golf, mountain-biking and being with his family.
